Trainer's sensational winning strike rate at Corbould Park

Dec 21, 2016

He's based at the Gold Coast but trainer Toby Edmonds appears to have taken a liking to the Sunshine Coast.

He improved his winning strike rate at Corbould Park during the past 12 months to almost 56% with three more winners on Wednesday.

Edmonds celebrated with Sweet Shamrock in the Sky Racing Class 3 Plate (1600m) when jockey Jeff Lloyd took the in-form four-year-old and equal $3.60 favourite to a nose win over Princess Charm. The gelding has won its past three outings.

Two races later and the trainer and jockey combined again with The Amateur, a $1.30 favourite which surged to five-and-half-length win over Lujac in the @SKYRACING Maiden Handicap (1400m).

In the next, Edmonds and Lloyd guided Tiara Star, a $1.80 favourite, to a five-length win over Teagz in the SKYRACING.COM.AU QTIS two-years-old miaden plate (1000m).

Edmonds has now accumulated 10 victories from his past 18 starts at the venue, during the past year.

Lloyd is the most successful rider for the stable.

Wednesday's 10-race card at Corbould Park - which was scheduled to go into the night - is part of a strring of meetings there.

The Sunshine Coast Turf Club will next host a race day on Boxing Day.
