Young Fun Wins First Up

Sep 20, 2014

Having his seventh start for the stable after being transferred to the stable, the ever consistent Young Fun added another win to his record, winning the Pink Ribbon Cup over 1100m at his home track of the Gold Coast.

Never out of the top four in all of his starts for the stable, the More Than Ready five-year-old gelding appreciated his seven week break between runs, scoring by a head from Pretty Face with only a short head back to Champagne Blaze in third.

Settling back in the field with only a few behind him, Young Fun was tightened for run, but still was too good, recording his fourth overall career win from 14 starts.

Starting the race favourite, jockey Jackson Morris returned to scale to the cheers of the punters, having won the main feature race of the day at the Gold Coast track.

Congratulations to owners Segenhoe Stud and Kevin Maloney.
