Boy Oh Boy – triple treat for Nicholas
Aug 30, 2014
Four-year-old More Than Ready stallion Our Boy Nicholas was having his first start for the Toby Edmonds Stable back in July, and he was simply too good, coming from back in the field to win over 1200m at Eagle Farm.
Stepping up to the 1350m at Doomben two weeks later, the blue-blood proved too good once again for owners Segenhoe Stud and Gerry Harvey.
With the ability to produce an outstanding final sectional, Our Boy Nicholas once again came from last and produced an amazing run to take the race by two lengths.
Two weeks later, he headed back to the same track and distance, and with the punters finally taking notice of his ability, he started the race favourite with Jim Byrne in the saddle.
Ridden a little differently this time, he sat handy and once again, sprinted away with ease, taking the race by two-and-a-quarter lengths from Tints with a neck margin back to Itchintowin in third.
By Champion Sire More Than Ready, Our Boy Nicholas is out of the Listed-winning Redoute’s Choice mare Presenting, who comes from an amazing back type family that includes Group One winners Bentley Biscuit and Thorn Park plus a host of other stakes winners.
With a pedigree that could see this four-year-old become a stallion prospect, congratulations to his owners on his recent excellent form.
