Back to back victories for Siegfried

Jun 08, 2014

A winner two starts back at the Sunshine Coast when winning by a length over the 1200m, three-year-old Jet Spur gelding Siegfried travelled to Doomben to contest the Listed Queensland Day Stakes over 1200m at his next start.

Settling back in the field, he produced a very good effort to finish just over two lengths from the winner.

Dropping back in class, Siegfried headed to Rockhampton on Saturday, June 7 and took on the Barnsey’s Trailer Sales Handicap over 1400m, a distance he was yet to race over, but his latest few efforts had indicated he should appreciate the step up.

Ridden by Dale Evans, Siegfried started favourite in the 11 horse field, and did not disappoint, coming from back in the field with a great turn of foot to take the race, his third career win, by a length from Mishani Gladiator, with another one-and-a-quarter lengths from Nude Secrets.

Racing as if he would appreciate even further there is a race over 1600m in two weeks’ time back at Rockhampton that looks as if it could be a suitable option for the A J Chigwidden, J L Hiron, R Torossi, S J Gray, G M Lever, M M Clingly, C M Thompson, D M Firth, P G Jones, G J Caisley, A G Warian & Diceridge Pty Ltd (Mgr: Mrs J P Aspinall)-owned three-year-old son of Jet Spur.

Congratulations to the the connections of Siegfried as he is building quite a good record!
