Four-year-old mare salutes again!

May 11, 2014

Having won two of her past four starts, and running second in the other two, the Segenhoe Stud owned-Spurs And Sashes headed back to her home track of the Gold Coast, where she has had so much to date to contest the final race on the eight race card.

Ridden by Travis Wolfgram, the well-bred Flying Spur mare jumped away well from the gates as the narrow favourite and settled in a handy position, travelling only a few lengths from the leader.

Getting up to defeat the David Kelly-trained Aldini by three-quarters-of-a-length, with a further length-and-a-half top the third placed Little Long Horn, trained by Kelly Doughty.

Having now had 16 starts for four wins and six placed efforts, Spurs And Sashes is about as consistent as they come, and it would be great to have a stable full of horses like her.

Congratulations to all at Segenhoe Stud for the outstanding form this mare has been showing, and also to the team for the support they have given the Toby Edmonds Racing Stable.
