Scarborough secures victory at the Farm

Mar 15, 2014

Heading to Eagle Farm to contest the Sita Australia Class 5 over 1600m, consistent four-year-old Snitzel gelding Scarborough produced a great effort to achieve his fourth career win.

Owned by Miss J Edmonds, G C Diamond, T H Smith, C Porter, D V Patel, D K Patel, R M Lapointe, C McDonald & D Love, the gelding settled towards the back of the field and with Travis Wolfgram in the saddle, Scarborough produced the goods to take the race by a narrow short neck margin from the lightly weighted Captain Fastbuck, with Thirsty For Blood a further length away in third.

Although this galloper is by Snitzel, a sprinter, and noted sire of sprinters himself, he is starting to also getting a fee that have performed really well over a bit of ground.

Having previously won over 1800m, the pedigree of Scarborough (being out of a Woodman mare) suggests that he should be able to possibly even get a trip of 2000m.

Only being his second run this time in, there is still significant improvement and we look forward to another good run in the coming weeks!!
