All aboard the Tulla Express

Feb 09, 2014

As the Edmonds Racing Team headed to their home track on Saturday with four runners, it was Tulla Express in the final event of the day, the Prime Minister’s Cup 3 May Class 1 Handicap over 1400m that rewarded the team with victory.

Having her seventh career start, and only third for the Edmonds Racing stable, the four-year-old Pins mare, owned by loyal supporters Segenhoe Stud, produced a class effort to score by over two lengths.

Having finished third in her first to runs for the stable, the victory at her third start was somewhat due to the tempo of the race with jockey Travis Wolfgram going forward and taking control in the slowly run race.

As the field headed for home, the mare asserted her authority, going on to win by two-and-a-quarter lengths.

A full sister to the Listed-winning, Group One placed Stickpin, and from the family of stakes winners Master Dreamer, In Defiance and Rebellious Dreamer, Any further success for Tulla Express is only going to add to her broodmare value for when she retires to Segenhoe Stud upon her retirement.
