Spot On Target…Again!
Feb 16, 2013
After a successful cross border raid nine days ago to take victory at Grafton, Markane gelding Spot On Target headed to Doomben to contest the second race on the card, the Brothers Grange Communications Sports Open Handicap over 1350m.
Jumping away from gate three with apprentice Pricilla Schmidt in the saddle claiming 3kg, the Toby Edmonds-trained runner took the race by half-a-length from the ex-Peter Moody-trained horse Doubtful Jack.
Recording his seventh career win, Spot On Target took his career earnings just shy of $240,000, which is quite significant when you note he was only a $38,000 yearling purchase from the Magic Million yearling sale on the Gold Coast.
Congratulations to Mr P Kaljo and Mr R Walsh, the successful owners of Spot On Target.
Interestingly, the Toby Edmonds Stable currently has shares available in two yearlings purchased from this year’s Magic Millions sale. If you are interested in any further information on the I Am Invincible colt or the Husson colt, please click here.
