Border raid Spot On Target
Feb 07, 2013
Having only his second start for the Toby Edmonds stable, Markane gelding Spot On Target (pictured left) travelled south over the border on February 7 to Grafton, where he came away with a length-and-three-quarter victory in the Grafton District Service Club-Benchmark 75 over 1000m.
Carrying 60kg’s and ridden by jockey Timothy Bell, Spot On Target sat handy in the run before asserting his superiority to race away for victory, recording his sixth career win and taking his career earnings over the $200,000 mark.
A runner up in the Group One T.J. Smith Stakes of his two-year-old year behind Linky Dink, the now six-year-old has been a model of consistentcy throughout his career, which is clearly evident through his prize money haul.
Out of a half-sister to the dam of the great Takeover Target and his half-brother Predatory Pricer, Spot On Target is a graduate of the Magic Millions yearling sale.
Congratulations must go to his winning connections Mr P Kaljo and Mr R Walsh on today’s victory.
With the Toby Edmonds stable set to saddle up Emvoss at Canterbury Park on Friday night as well as War Ends (pictured below) and Bid Spotter at Eagle Farm on Saturday, it could be a very good weekend for the stable.
