Edmonds stable purchased two colts on day two of the Magic Millions

Jan 11, 2013

After not securing anything on day one of the 2013 Magic Millions yearling sale, Toby came out guns blazing early during the second day, purchasing Lot 204, a colt (pictured below) by the Yarraman Park Stud first-season sire I Am Invincible, for $160,000.

Trained earlier in his career by Toby Edmonds Racing, I Am Invincible won by five lengths on his debut as a two-year-old, before finishing third in the Group Three Kindergarten Stakes at his second start behind eventual Group One Golden Slipper winner Forensics.

An exciting speedster, I Am Invincible won five times from 13 starts highlighted by victory in the Listed Sir Monash Stakes as well as a second place behind Takeover Target in the Group One Goodwood Handicap in Adelaide.

Offered from the draft of Yarraman Park Stud (as agent), Lot 204 is out of the five-time winning Langfuhr mare Sacred Hill, a half-sister to the Listed winner Pottinger as well as Suggestive, the dam four stakes winners; Group One winner Sky Cuddle, Group Two winner Highly Recommended, Group Three winner Sky Love and the recent Listed winner Undeniably.

The dam of four to the races for three winners, this colt is sure to be fast, with plenty of 2yo speed in the pedigree it would be no surprise to see the colt back this time next year in the $2 million Magic Millions 2yo Classic.

Describe by Toby as, “the pick of the I Am Invincible’s from Yarraman, looks just like his dad did as a yearling”, this colt is sure to get every chance. You too can view his pedigree by clicking here, and also watch him walk by clicking here.

Another purchase during the second day of selling was the Edinglassie Stud as agent-consigned Lot 304, a grey colt (pictured below) by Hussonet’s Group One-winning son Husson, that was secured for $80,000.

The leading first-season sire on the track last season by winners, Husson will be represented by leading Magic Millions 3yo Guineas contender Lucky Hussler, a last start Group Three winner over race favourite and Group One winner Sizzling.

Out of the Grosvenor mare Three Quarter Pace, a three-quarter-sister to the dual Group One winner Pace Invader, this colt’s pedigree contains the 10-time Group One-winning, multiple New Zealand Horse of the Year King Mufhasa – click here to check out the pedigree of the colt.
