Regillus Registers First Stable Win

Dec 23, 2012

3yo gelding Regillus (Sequalo x Kayano) scored his first win for Edmonds Racing and a 2nd win overall with a dominant performance over 1200m in the Centrepoint Apartments Class One Handicap at the Sunshine Coast today.

Ridden by Chris Munce and starting from Barrier 10, Regillus began evenly before Munce eventually took up the runnning, rating the gelding superbly in front.

He travelled well in the lead and upon straightening Regillus put the result beyond doubt, the brown gelding showing a classy turn of foot to race ahead by 4 lengths midway down the final stretch, before idling down late and running out the winner by 1.8 lengths.

The convincing victory was well deserved for the horse, who had been very unlucky in his first two runs for Edmonds Racing, taking his record to 8 starts 2 Wins and 3 minor placings.

The Sequalo gelding has now won over $30,000 in prizemoney and a big thank you and congratulations are in order for Stuart Ramsey, long may his support of the stable continue.
