Litsa's Faith on the board at the Gold Coast

Sep 01, 2012

Litsa’s Faith has made rapid improvement from a solid debut for the stable to win the Provista Maiden Handicap (1400m) at the Gold Coast.

The Keep The Faith gelding had four barrier trials before he stepped out for his first run since joining the team last year, finishing 4-1/4 lengths from the winner over 1350 metres at Doomben on August 8

Staying on his home track and a slight increase in distance combined with natural improvement for Litsa’s Faith’s win at the Gold Coast.

He settled midfield on the rail in a seven-horse field before jockey Aidan Holt got Litsa’s Faith off the fence to improve passing the 500 metres.

The four-year-old always had the race in hand from the moment he loomed up to the leaders at the 250 metres but the plucky runner-up Unseen kept Litsa’s Faith honest but the gelding had a comfortable half length to spare on the line.

Lista’s Faith earned $6500 for his maiden win, repaying half his $13,000 purchase price at the 2010 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale.
