Via Con Dios too good again

Aug 26, 2012

SEQUALO mare Via Con Dios remains unbeaten after two starts after posting another strong display at the Gold Coast this afternoon.

The Toby Edmonds-trained four-year-old made her debut at the Gold Coast earlier this month, taking care of a Maiden field by four lengths.

She stepped up in today’s Bring Bolt To The Beach Class 1 Hcp (900m) and again proved too good.

Burdened with 59kg, Via Con Dios ($1.80 into $1.50 fav) led the from the jump to record a one-length win over Heart Throb ($5.50) with 2-1/4 lengths to Diaphysis ($8.50) in third.

“She’s got some toe this mare and she’s done a very good job with the 59kg,’’ said Edmonds.

“I’ll just see how she pulls up after today before we decide the next step for her.’’
Via Con Dios is raced by Peter and Julianne Bennett, who bred Via Con Dios from their former talented mare Areeba Areeba, who won four straight races at the Gold Coast in 2005.

Well done to Peter and Julianne, its been a long road getting Via Con Dios to the races but she has been given time and is reaping the benefits, surely this will not be her last win.
