Weekend in Review

Mar 12, 2012

Hi all

Over the weekend we had 2 runners.

Saturday at the Gold Coast we had a lovely Fastnet Rock filly having her first start for Edmonds Racing, her name is Rocksan.

Rocksan drew barrier 4, with our new stable apprentice Jake Hull to ride with the 2kg claim reducing her weight to 55.5kg. She looked to be well in as she has been thriving since arriving in our yard.

Rocksan took up a position towards the tail of the field with Jake improving his position from the 600m. Upon straightening she looked to be travelling nicely, and Jake was tempted to go back inside horses, he opted to switch back to the outside, and won in the last bound! She looks a nice progressive type of filly who will appreciate a bit further in distance the further she gets into her preparation.

Congratulations to owners;

Nick Caple, Tony Clark, Peter Farmer, Paul Gowland, David Gowland, Steven Heavey, Grant Jacques, Paul Lewis, Ian Maccallum, Kevin Matthews, Paul McCombe, Peter Moran, Brad Nolan, Malcolm Russel, Glenn Ruthven, Neil Stedman, Frank Taddeo and thank you for your support, I look forward to testing her in town in the near future.

On Sunday at the Sunshine Coast we had debutant Private Agenda gelding, Linvillewith Jake Hull to ride.

He began very well and took up a nice position in 4th one horse off the fence, upon turning for home he lost a lot of ground and was well beaten. He was vetted after the race and it was found he pulled up a bit distressed from the run, we will monitor him closely over the next few days to decide whether to push on or send him to the paddock.
