Weekend Success at Sunshine Coast!

Feb 06, 2012

With three runners at the Sunshine Coast yesterday, the stable had a fantastic day at the races.

Two winners, Mia Forza and Chipp'n Away, and a 2nd by Rocking Easy, who went down in a thrilling bob of the head finish.

Mia Forza saluted in Race 4, aided by a terrific ride from Queenslands leading jockey, Chris Munce. He was positive early, put her in the box seat, showed a very nice turn of foot upon straightening, and won as she liked. First up this preparation and also first start for Edmonds Racing, we are thrilled to see her come away with a victory.

Congratulations to the owner of Mia Forza, Fred Crabbia, our first runner for Mr Crabbia and a winner, lets hope it is the first of many!

In Race 7, it was a bit of a family affair with my Son, Trent, and Father In Law, Colin Watts, the owners of our winner, Chipp'n Away.

We were confident he would produce a forward showing yesterday, having gone down by a narrow margin last start midweek at Doomben. Chipp'n Away duly saluted by a very comfortable 3 lengths, again ridden by Chris Munce.

Bought from the Magic Millions Tried Horse Sale, for $2000, he has won twice and placed a further two times since joining our stable, more than earning his keep, we are hopeful of picking up a few more wins with him. Restricting him to the shortcourses, has seemingly done the trick with this fella, as he is racing with a great amount of consistency. Congrats Trent and Col!

Race 8 Rocking Easy went around, also ridden by Munce, he came from a nice spot just a touch worse than midfield, and was extremely unlucky not to get the bob of the head. the addition of blinkers may just be the key to seeing him win a few more, well done on the placing to owner Jacinta Kinsella.

All in all it was a good day at the track, a touch unlucky to not get a treble, but as they say thats racing!

Regards Toby.
