Edmonds strikes with first runner since parting company with Patinack

Sat, 26th March 2011

TRAINER Toby Edmonds landed a winner with his first runner since cutting ties with Patinack Farm when Emvoss scored on debut at the Gold Coast this afternoon.
Edmonds was Patinack’s Gold Coast foreman for 12 months before being told on February 14 that his services were no longer required.
The experienced Edmonds reapplied for his trainer’s licence and currently has six horses in work at the Gold Coast.
“This bloke is my first runner since leaving Patinack and it’s nice to get that first winner up,’’ said Edmonds.
Emvoss, a son of Testa Rossa, was a $36,000 purchase at the 2009 Magic Millions sale.
“He’s been a very slow learner. He’s still pretty dumb, but he shows ability,’’ said Edmonds.
Ridden by Glenn Lynch, Emvoss ($7.50) was always up near the lead in today’s Grand Motors Maiden Plate (1200m) and drew away to score by 2-1/4 lengths from Miss Judge ($3.10 fav)with God’s Cobba ($21) a length away third.
